A currently competent Senior CTDP Counselor who is responsible for planning, implementing, and coordinating the activities and services constituting the clinical care of individual adult clients enrolled in the Correctional Treatment Diversion Program (CTDP) and providing oversight and supervision to CTDP Staff. The Senior CTDP Counselor will provide professional clinical services to all assigned adult (i.e. ages 18 to 75) clients in the CTDP setting who are experiencing problems with substance use and/or co-occurring issues.  Capable of providing sound clinical advice about client needs to CTDP staff, referral sources, . Expected to carry a client caseload of no more than 15, but subject to change.

Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited school with a Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or some other relevant Human Services discipline.  Must have current Certified Addition Professional certification or LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT licensure in the state of Florida.  Experience providing services to clients in a criminal justice setting preferred. 
 
  • Must be knowledgeable and demonstrate competence in current principals and practices including all aspects of providing treatment services to adults suffering from substance abuse and related issues.
  • Must have some management knowledge and how to motivate and encourage staff members.
  • Must be familiar with and demonstrate competence in various treatment modalities and therapy models useful in the clinical and behavioral management of adults. 
  • Able to document and have adequate command of the written word; is self-sufficient and self-motivated; and be able to track and demonstrate their work and the work of staff they supervise.

Responsibilities
 
  • Provides therapeutic services for an assigned group of CTDP clients; assumes primary responsibility for developing, writing, implementing, evaluating and revising overall treatment goals and objectives through the use of the Individual Treatment Plan;
  • Provides individual, group and family therapy and symptom management, ensuring immediate changes are made in the treatment plans as clients’ needs change; and advocates for clients’ rights and preferences;
  • Documents client progress to maintain a permanent record of client activity according to established methods and procedures;
  • Administratively and clinically supervises CTDP counselors and case managers to include staff evaluations, staff meetings, program development, disciplinary actions and overall supervision responsibilities;
  • Coordinates and leads the quarterly CTDP Advisory Meeting to include CTDP staff and external stakeholders such as representatives from Seventh Circuit Court, probation, attorneys, and the FAITH community;
  • Monitors productivity requirements of staff and reports to the Director of Outpatient Correctional Programs any concerns/issues within the CTDP program;
  • Consults with community agencies and families to maintain coordination in the treatment process; 
  • Coordinates to detoxify clients and establish linkage to necessary treatment, self-help programs (e.g., Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous), outpatient services, and residential facilities;
